The peak of watermelon season is upon us – and we cannot get enough of this summer favorite!
This low-calorie, nutrient-dense fruit is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Watermelon is rich in lycopene – a phytonutrient that has been linked with decreased risk of various cancers – and is an excellent source of Vitamin A supporting healthy, beautiful skin!
Best of all, watermelon is 92% water and contains tons of electrolytes (hey, potassium we’re looking at you) to keep you hydrated and replenished during the warmer summer months.
Since we love all things watermelon, here is another fun way to enjoy this iconic fruit – try our 4-Step Watermelon Ice Pop recipe and indulge in a guilt-free snack (or dessert!) at your next barbeque.
Watermelon Ice Pops Recipe
1 seedless watermelon, cut into 1 inch wedges – with rind
Lime juices, for taste (optional)
Honey, for taste (optional)
Sea Salt, for taste (optional)
First, cut your melon into wedges. Take a knife and make a small cut into the center of the wedge’s rind to fit the wooden popsicle stick. Insert popsicle stick.
Next sprinkle your watermelon with a dash of sea salt, and drizzle some honey on top with a squeeze of lime to enhance the flavors. (Optional)
Place your watermelon pops on a parchment lined cookie sheet in a single line and freeze overnight, or until hard, and enjoy!
Our Watermelon Ice Pops recipe was inspired by our favorite seasonal juice, Watermelon Berry – a delicious blend of watermelon, strawberry, young coconut water, and lime! Use whenever you need a refreshing pick-me-up that bursts with flavor, or as a (healthy) cocktail mixer at your next party.
