The One Natural Hangover Cure That Actually Works

May 06, 2016 @ Project Juice

We’ve all been there: feeling less than awesome after an indulgent evening drinking with coworkers and friends. It is the day after Cinco De Mayo after all! That last margarita sure seemed like a wonderful idea at the time — but our headache this morning says otherwise.

So what next? Spend the rest of the day satiating your hangover with junk food? Nope. Take the high road and get yourself back on track with our favorite juice remedy for an all natural hangover cure that is only 4 ingredients and takes less than 5 minutes.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 lemon, peeled
  • 1 apple, seeds removed
  • 3 oz. coconut water

Run the cucumber, lemon, and apple through a juicer. Add the coconut water. Enjoy and say goodbye to that pesky hangover.

Why it works

Remember, alcohol is a diuretic that speeds up the loss of fluid from your body and leads to dehydration.  Juicing offers immediate absorbtion (zero digestion involved) of nutrients that your body is lacking – providing you with immediate relief! The plant-based ingredients of this juice recipe are designed to rebalance and rehydrate your system. Here’s how:

Cucumbers: Made up of 96% water, cucumbers combat dehydration and assist in flushing toxins from your body. They’re also filled with vitamins A, B, and C along with magnesium, potassium, and silicon to bolster your immune system, give you energy, and aid in skin health.

Lemons: Packed with Vitamin C, lemon juice assists with tissue regeneration, a major key to hangover remedies, and gives your tired liver a helping hand with detoxification.

Apples: The fructose in apples helps to metabolize alcohol. They also have great headache-relieving qualities.

Coconut: The pièce de résistance of this hangover juice is coconut water which is loaded with electrolytes and antioxidants like potassium, the key to feeling better faster.

So breakout the juicer for this simple 4-ingredient hangover remedy – it’ll be your go-to cure after a night out!
