Lose Weight & Detoxify with this Green Smoothie

Jun 27, 2016 @ Project Juice

Want to work towards a healthier lifestyle, but not sure where to start? Incorporate a green smoothie into your daily routine!

Eating healthy doesn’t need to be complicated. Try subbing out common acid-forming foods (ahem, we mean the fried, sugar-laden, processed foods that sit in the body, leading to poor digestion and congested skin) and adding in alkalizing foods – meaning your dark leafy greens, ripe fruits, and veggies – that support your body’s natural detoxification processes.

This detoxifying green smoothie is a wonderful way to incorporate dark leafy greens into your diet every morning. The greens provide Vitamin A which helps flush out toxins and strengthens the skin, Vitamin E which helps prevent damage from free radicals, and Vitamin C that encourages collagen production (yay, to youthful, glowing skin!).

This healthy green smoothie also contains a wealth of minerals that create and maintain new cells in the body along with powerful phytochemicals and antioxidants such as chlorophyll and lutein that fight disease and hydrate the body. The pineapple and lime juice help to balance the “green” taste of the smoothie, while boosting digestion and metabolism.

Whether you’re transitioning to a healthier routine, maintaining your already healthy glow, or detoxing over a long weekend, sip on this detox green smoothie every morning for increased energy, youthful looking skin, and improved digestion!
