How Project Juice Celebrates The Earth, Everyday

Apr 20, 2017 @ Project Juice

At Project Juice, we consistently keep the environment in mind and seek ways to make our business practices more sustainable. In honor of Earth Day, we want to share four things we do towards this effort today:

1) Support organic farming practices by sourcing USDA certified organic ingredients. Organic produce is free from toxic pesticides and chemicals, and encourages biodiversity. We always source the freshest ingredients that are not just good for YOU, but also good for the environment.

2) Donate the leftover, post-juicing, pulp to be used as organic cow feed. After squeezing the goodness out of our organic produce, the leftover pulp is put to good use as organic cow feed. This ensures that we are wasting as little as possible. You know what they say, one man’s trash is another man’s (in this case, cow’s) treasure!

3) Source recyclable bottles and shipping materials for your juice! In addition to being reusable, our Project Juice cooler bags are made from recycled materials. They can be used to transport juices, for grocery shopping or to bring your lunch when you head into work or school.

4) Proudly press all of our juices from at least 50% “ugly produce.” Ugly produce (cosmetically challenged, but perfectly nutritious produce), is a big contributor to the food waste epidemic we face today. With the launch of Ugly & Awesome, our seasonal juice pressed from 99% ugly produce, we strive to bring greater attention to food waste.
