Green Zinger Smoothie Recipe

Aug 23, 2018 @ Project Juice

Start off your day with a “zing”! This green smoothie recipe features a combination of leafy greens (kale and romaine lettuce), ginger, pineapple, and lemon juice. This isn’t your ordinary green smoothie. Perfect when you’re on the go and only takes five minutes from blending to sipping!

Ginger adds a mild spice and burst of flavor and is great for anti-inflammatory support, alleviating muscle pain and soreness, anti-nausea, boosting the immune system, and more. Ginger helps the body naturally detoxify and will help maximize the detox benefits of a quarterly juice cleanse or a gut healthy meal plan.

Pineapple adds a touch of natural sweetness and is packed with health benefits. Pineapple boosts the immune system, improves respiratory health, tones skin, helps in digestion, and strengthens bones. It’s health properties make it a nutritious and tasty addition to your green smoothie.

This zinger is best enjoyed in the morning and if you suffer from morning sickness or nausea, the touch of ginger can fix that!

Green Zinger Smoothie Recipe

Serves:1 | Prep time: 5 minutes

  • 3 kale leaves (optional to de-stem)
  • 3 romaine leaves
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup pineapple, chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 inch ginger, peeled
  • 1 tsp Project Juice’s Superfood Green Blend (or other favorite green powder)

  1. Add kale, romaine, and water to a blender.
  2. Blend on high until smooth to break down the greens.

  1. Add in pineapple, lemon juice, ginger, and greens powder. Puree until smooth.

  1. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.

EXPERT TIP: The pineapple can be fresh or frozen. Frozen pineapple will offer a thicker end result. If using fresh, we suggest adding a handful of ice. Read about the benefits of fresh vs. frozen produce here!
