DIY Coffee Scrub – Perfect Homemade Mother’s Day Gift

May 11, 2017 @ Project Juice

Many of us look forward to our morning cup o’ joe (in all of its fancy forms) to put a pep in our step and ease us into the day. But, did you know that coffee can actually do the same thing for your skin?!

Throw together this easy, DIY coffee scrub for cellulite-fighting, skin toning, gentle exfoliating benefits. Coffee contains caffeine which helps to stimulate blood flow encouraging skin plumping and tightening, along with antioxidants for radiant skin.

The sugar in this recipe helps to buff away rough patches, leading to your smoothest skin yet. The coconut and almond oils prevent dehydration and promote a healthy glow.

Best of all, you probably have most of these ingredients hidden in your pantry already (plus it’s a great way to use up the rest of the refined sugar you may have around — on, not in, your body)!

This DIY scrub is simple and makes the perfect gift – Mother’s Day is just around the corner – with its delicious coffee aroma and wallet-friendly cost!

Transfer the scrub into any container you’d like (we like mason jars), add a ribbon, maybe a note with instructions, and it’s ready to go! Your friends (and their bums) are sure to thank you!

1 c. coarsely ground caffeinated coffee

1 c. sugar

½ c. virgin coconut oil, melted

¼ c. almond oil

Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix until well combined. Store in an airtight container for up to three months.

To use, scoop the scrub out, warm it in your hands, and scrub in circular motions, focusing on rough areas or cellulite-prone spots. Let sit for a few minutes then rinse and follow up with your favorite moisturizer to lock in the benefits!
