5 WAYS TO CUT FOOD WASTE AT HOME
- MAKE A SMOOTHIE
Smoothies are a great way to use any leftover produce you have in your kitchen! From leafy greens to bruised fruits to about-to-turn avocados you can literally put anything and everything into a smoothie. Not only are they the quick and easy to make, they are tasty, and a great substitute for any meal of the day.
- FREEZE YOUR GREENS
Too much greens? No problem! You can save smoothie making time by freezing your greens. Frozen greens in an ice cube tray are an easy solution when your looking for a flavor boost, colder smoothie on an extra hot day, or even a thicker smoothie to keep you fuller longer.
- PRESS SOME JUICE
Juicing is a great way to save fruits and veggies! You should drink your freshly pressed juice as soon as you can (within 3 days) or freeze your juice and thaw them when you’re ready to enjoy!
- PREP SMOOTHIES & FREEZE
One of our favorite hacks is to prep your smoothie ahead of time! Cut up ripe fruit and veggies and store pre-measured, in containers. When you’re ready to make a smoothie just grab one of the containers, add your favorite smoothie liquid, and sip.
- MAKE A SMOOTHIE BOWL
Thick and creamy smoothie bowls are all the rage and YOU can make them at home. All you have to do is add more ice (or frozen greens), less liquid, and any and all produce. Top with your favorite superfoods like honey, granola, or even more fresh fruit!
